(Also, local protest in New Paltz Jan. 10)

As we noted in our Jan. 4 Newsletter with the Gaza articles: "ANSWER, backed by many other groups, is organizing a major series of protests set for Saturday, Jan. 10 — mainly in Washington, San Francisco, Los Angeles and many other cities and towns. The "Let Gaza Live National March on Washington" begins at 1 p.m. on the north side of the White House. People will start gathering at 12 noon. For information about the Washington event: http://answercoalition.org, info@internationalanswer.org, and (202) 544-3389. It is important to have a large turnout at the D.C. event because Congress will be in session and all eyes will be on the nation's capital in the days before the Inauguration."
The Mid-Hudson buses will pick up passengers at 6:30 a.m. at the Hudson Valley Islamic Community Center, 3680 Lexington Avenue, in Mohegan Lake, NY 10547. This location is about 35 miles south of the Poughkeepsie via Rt. 9.
Driving directions to Mohegan Lake, New York from Poughkeepsie side of Mid-Hudson Bridge:
1. Enter Rt. 9 South from the Bridge or other locations. (continue to follow US-9 for 29.1 miles.)

3. Continue on Highland Ave., 0.9 mi
4. Slight right at N Division St., 0.2 mi

AND DON'T FORGET THE NEW PALTZ ACTION:
For activists who want to join the call for an end to the Gaza war, but cannot make it to Washington: As part of the Jan. 10 actions there will be a demonstration in the Mid-Hudson town of New Paltz, N.Y., from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at New Paltz Plaza on Main St. (Rt. 299), a short distance west of Thruway exit 18. From the access road past the toll booths turn left at Rt. 299. The rally is about an eighth of a mile distant on your right, just in front of the large plaza. People will be gathering in front of the movie theater in the plaza at 11 a.m. The event is sponsored by Middle East Crisis Response and is strongly endorsed by the Hudson Valley Activist Newsletter and Mid-Hudson ANSWER.
